Does someone have a list somewhere mentioning which ISPs are doing this? I have not noticed this personally with my ISP, but you never know when my provider might start doing it too.

Are all ISPs doing this? Too many subscribers on the same line (they're the only high-speed ISP available in my area at the moment).Unfortunately I'm also fairly certain that they use traffic shaping - we have the best package they have to offer, and like you said, Rich - we're not getting what we're paying for. Still, it's a huge upgrade from what we used to have with horrible packet loss.

My ISP had congestion as well, but they did go the long route and upgrade – it was desperately needed. I use Verizon Wireless at home as my primary Internet service now and can see Internet congestion during peak times (IE, 5:00PM when everyone gets off work). They had two options, upgrade the towers/transmitters and Internet backbone connection to them OR take the cheap route and throttle users.

Although I hate to hear it, I expected as much.
