Healthy Stuff You Can Nibble On At Your Computer

A long while ago, I ran a tip which basically said putting a candy dish near your computer is a bad idea because you will end up munching on it without thinking. So as an alternative to the candy dish, here are some ideas of some stuff you might want to have instead:

  • Nothing
  • Low Salt Nuts (cashews for me)
  • Raisins / Dried Fruit
  • Bananas
  • Peppermints (if you must have something sweet)

Of course, some of these may leave your hands sticky so having a moist cloth nearby might come in handy.

Did I miss something? If your computer snack isn’t listed, please share in the comments.

It’s definitely a big challenge. I had to go with your #1 option — nothing — because even with something like mints, they’d disappear fast. Besides the weight concerns, it was too much sugar on the teeth.

  3. Raw, baby carrots are a perfect snack at the computer. They have the crunch that we all like but it’s obviously way healthier than chips or candy.

keep a bottle of water nearby this is good enough

  5. Nothing beats beef jerky.

  6. Microwave popcorn. Sometimes, when I need something crunchy, just pop an envelope of popcorn in the nuker. Even if I eat the whole bag (which often happens), not a nutritional disaster.

  7. I support the peppermints! I had a bag like two weeks ago and it lasted the whole week. And yet I didn’t over snack on them.

Besides, I heard from someone that peppermints help you think by stimulating your tongue or something like that. XD

  8. I think Popcorn is a good option.
