Users looking for a full featured sound card, but don’t want to spend huge amounts of cash, will find the Fortissimo III fills this niche nicely. It includes an impresssive list of features, including support for most 3D positional audio, and offers 7.1 audio performance on a budget. Performance was good, in both synthetic tests and real world gaming impact. Music playback was more than acceptable, and the 7.1 audio makes this card an excellent choice for home theater enthusiasts on a budget.
