“Hidden” Mic Boost On Realtek HD Sound Cards

I replaced a motherboard yesterday and it came built-in with a Realtek HD sound card. The card works great and I have no problems with it, save for the fact some of the audio options are absolutely buried. In this video I show how to enable something called “Mic Boost” that puts a 20db amplification when a mic is plugged in.

    Hi there

    I think they have corrected this problem in the newest version of the software. I own a Zepto laptop with the HD soundcard, and in my software you still have to use the Realtek provided software to turn mic boost on, but it is in Input section of the mixer, but you still have to press those little dots (hmm go figure).

    I have an education in web software development, and this is almost as far from user friendly as anything. Realtek should really go back to the drawing board with this. It is a great soundcard otherwise though.
