Whenever a new major version is released for one of the big browsers, there are typically several articles posted which pit them against each other to measure relative performance. So right on cue with the initial releases of Internet Explorer 9, here is a fairly objective comparison of the new browser to Firefox, Chrome and Safari (sorry no Opera).
The percentage values are relative to the performance of IE9. For example a score of 50% means the performance is half that of IE9. By a quick glance, you can see no browser beat IE9 in any of the tests. While it could be that IE9 will be the fastest browser out there, I am a bit skeptical of the results, but none the less they seem promising.
IE9 is right around the corner, but have any of you adopted the browser early? If so, what do you think of it so far?

It’s still way to early to adopt IE 9. It’s not even alpha quality yet.
I’m sticking with Firefox. It’s the best browser around IMO but who knows, I might try IE9 if it gets positive feedback.
Never adopt early, let alone too early. The experience will be subjective regardless of benchmarking or what not. For speed of response, I have yet to see something faster than Chrome but it is definitely not that I cannot wait. Plus, it will take some hard persuading to wean me off of FF as the workhorse, even on Vista.
Opera is faster then Chrome

There’s nothing like chrome for me!
theres an IE9 now??
Last time I touched IE was v5.5 under windows 2000
I tend to carry a thumb drive with firefox on it – which I then hide on all PCs I regularly need to use that aren’t my own.
Immoral and sneaky? maybe, but its saved me a lot of tedious work a few times, particularly when theres things that crop up where IE is the culprit.
