I use Google a lot. However, even searching specifics will bring up tons of sites, some with contrary information. It is as much about the source of the info and the validity of it as it is in looking for it. Anyone can put anything on the web. I have found a lot of help there, but have also seen a lot of bad info out there. I have spent hours trying to find just the right info presented in a good way and come up with minimal help at least as far as exactly what I was looking for. I guess it can also depend on what you are looking for.

Another issue with the search field on PC Mech is that it doesn't allow you to search for words three letters inlenght. If you are searching for CPU by itself for instance, you are out of luck. Sure there are times you can add something else to it, but sometimes the exact post you are looking for might have had a certain word you remember that would weed out the other posts. If that word is three letters, it is no good. :)

Another forum response you may get to obviously dumb questions is RTFM (Read The Fricken Manual). Alot of things come either with either a paper manual or a CD disc with the manual on it or a web address, check these first before posting to avoid the dreaded RTFM.

Another tip: Search the FORUM before posting... Chances are you'll find an answer without needing to wait on responses
