It starts up to the start menu then the screen shows a message that says insert the 'status' disk and click ok. where do I go to get a disk like this. It also says there is an error 126. Unfortunately, I did something really stupid to my dell laptop and wasn't able to get past the "Welcome" page. Thought I had to download Windows XP to get back, which I did, but I didn't have all my drivers, especially what was needed to get online!! UGH! Found your helpful info here and I'm back in operation. Just wish I would have found you before I tried reinstalling XP, because I didn't know that Dell restore could still be restored as it tries to boot up using contol and F11 keys.
