There are two options discussed, one using the system recovery disc and the other involves a few command line calls to trick the OS installation into thinking you have not yet set up a password.
While these are pretty easy to do and realistically you can defeat any password using these methods, it just serves as a reminder that physical access to a machine always trumps any software security you have in place. If someone really wanted to get your files, they could pull out the hard drive and copy them.
