Almost universally on the response comments and the forums at PC mech, people refer to NewEgg as the #1 go to place. I've heard bad things about Tiger, but have had good results personally. But NOONE mentions BUY.com. This is not the place to buy components, but for gadgets, peripherals, and especially REFURBS, I can't get enough. They run their 'specials' by the week, weekend or by the day, but I constantly see smoking prices, no shipping charges, and no taxes. Anyone I know that wants a 24" flat panel for $200 or a netbook under $300, I tell them to sign up for the mailing list, and wait 2 weeks, tops. I've been watching the deals for 6 months now, and they're seemingly endless. I've purchased my 23" and 24" monitors there, my VESA wall mount, and found a golf range finder for $400 cheaper than retail. Oh, and the USB missile launcher. what a great call.Anyways, is there a reason noone uses or talks about this site? Do they have some poor stigma attached to them?

Rich-<br

I have been pushing refurbished laptops for some time now having been involved with running refurb PC operations in the past. Refurbished netbooks are now becoming available from many sources and are a great value. Amazing how much portable computing power is available for $200 these days!

Great article.
