iGoogle Gets A Few Updates

Recently I’ve been writing about customizable home pages such as my.msn.com, my.yahoo.com and so on.

This one specifically concerns iGoogle at www.google.com/ig.

Information Week reported that iGoogle received a few updates (for USA users anyway) so I checked it out.

Of the updates that are of significance to people who would use this, you can now read feeds "in full" and you can get more functionality out of the Gmail gadget (you can do quick replies inside the page without leaving it to go to Gmail directly). Google calls these "canvas" gadgets.

If you’re all about the GOOG, you now have more reasons to set your home page to it.

You can read more about what’s new and improved from the Google blog.

  1. I read about a site on John Chow today called http://www.43marks.com – its like iGoogle but better cuz you can add you own bookmarks and the bookmarks can be websites not just gadgets and RSS feeds although you can upload your favorite RSS feeds too. Its free and totally customizable. Plus you don’t have to login to see your bookmars and RSS feeds
