Most programs you use have an installer included which handles copying files to your system and creating shortcuts on your desktop/Start Menu. Alternately, portable applications and (some) utilities are just download and run. If you want to install these portable utilities then a tool to handle this is ZipInstaller.
It automatically extracts all files from the Zip file, copies them to the destination folder you select, creates shortcuts in the start menu and in your desktop, and adds an uninstall module to allow you to automatically remove the software in the future.
You may be asking why you would want to “install” these types of programs. One reason is that you can see the program in Add/Remove Programs to remind you that it is on your system and provides an easy way to manage these.
Of course this is not going to be for everyone, but maybe a few of you will find it helpful.
