If you happen to live in an area MetroPCS covers, and you use tons of bandwidth on your smartphone, MetroPCS offers unlimited LTE data at $70/month.
This is actually a price raise from what they had before concerning LTE plans, but for bandwidth-hungry users, this is still a good deal.
The first question people have is, obviously, "Is this truly unlimited?" As far as I can tell, yes it is. Download whatever you want using any app you want for as long as you want. Sounds simple enough.
Who would benefit from a wireless plan like this?
Some of you are probably thinking, "There is absolutely no way I would ever pay that much just for wireless phone/data service. Not happening." If that’s you, that’s fine. However there are more people these days who essentially use their smartphone like a PC to do basically everything.
If you take into account the average cost for a DSL or cable internet subscription service and nothing else, $70/month is actually not a bad price if you specifically used your smartphone only for all things internet.
It is true you pay out the nose initially for the phone itself when going with MetroPCS as the cost of the phone is "yours", but there are no long-term contract commitments. And if you considered the price of the phone as the price of your computer, again, it’s really not that bad of a deal.
Don’t worry, I’m not trying to convert you from PC to smartphone; perish the thought. However if you truly wanted to dump the PC entirely and go with a phone and plan that does it all at a price that’s comparable to what you’d pay otherwise, MetroPCS has you covered. Literally.
