But I'm not sure how to go about it. I currently have everything on one drive - C: . How do I "tell" Win7 to put only the OS on the SSD and everything else, now and in the future, on the HDD? Pardon my ignorance if this is a no-brainer.

I like the idea of using the SSD as host for the operating system and putting all the data on a conventional HDD. I have to disagree with you on a few of points:1) I have had an OCZ SSD in my tower for over three years with XP on it with out one failure between the SSD and XP. (Also a dual boot XP and Win7)2) I have five articles about the hardware of a SSD and Operating Systems on my blog and two articles on my web site about SSDs. None of my research suggests any incompatibilities between XP and a SSD.3) I have four laptops that have three different brands running XP or Server 2003 on a SSD's with out failure over the last two years.4) My research for my latest blog suggests that the cost per GB on a SSD is dropping, the 120 GB is now going from $80 to $90, that is about 0.02 USD per GB, not as cheap as a mechanical hard drive but getting there. If you want to see my research on the SSD it is in the Hardware category.

Hello Rich,<br
