Well.. if you took every single internet "meme" (the ROFL) that ever existed and put it all into one convention (the con), you’ve got ROFLcon.

If you’ve been on the internet long enough you know them well. Bert is Evil, Tron Guy, Star Wars Kid, Leeroy Jenkins, etc. etc. etc. If you don’t know what these are then DAMMIT YOU HAVEN’T BEEN ON THE INTERNET LONG ENOUGH.

I found out about the ROFLcon thru ASCII, better known as Jason Scott’s weblog. Jason was asked to speak at the event so he’s going to.

Thankfully Jason knows full well this con has a 50/50 shot of actually working.

In his own words: "..one of those ideas that is either going to be a spectacular one of a kind event or a complete mess".

Well.. one can only hope that cake will be there if it happens to be a total disaster.

Everyone knows cake is good. It makes the worst ideas seem not-so-bad when there’s something edible in tow with mint frosting on it.

To Jason: Find out if they have cake, and if not, get Carvel on the phone pronto and order up a Fudgie the Whale.
