A handy trick I learned from my wife is to keep the dispatch number of a taxi service programmed into your cell phone. You never know when, where or at what time you may find yourself without a ride and really need it. Having the dispatch number programmed into your phone assures you of being able to find your way home.

Hopefully you will never need to use it, or will be in a safe place while you wait, but best to be prepared for the situation.
