Laptop Stand Giveaway

Congratulations to Vicki, the winner of our computer case giveaway. Now, it is time for the next one.

You can read the review of the Attache Laptop Stand.

So, here are the details for winning this laptop stand.

The contest is going to wrap up on Friday, October 10th. The winner is going to be announced on Twitter.

This means that you will need to sign up for a free profile on Twitter.com. Then, you will want to find my profile at www.twitter.com/davidrisley and follow me. When you follow a person on Twitter, that means that you will see their updates when you visit the Twitter site.

Next, you will need to send me a message on Twitter to enter the contest. You do this by sending me a reply. All you have to do is have the word “@davidrisley” in your tweet to have it be a reply to me. See, when you put anybody’s Twitter username with an “@” sign into your tweet, that is a message to them.

In your tweet, tell me why you enjoy being a reader of PCMech.com. Remember, you’re limited to 140 characters per tweet, so you’ll need to keep it pithy. However, you can send me more than one message if you please.

For Twitter veterans, DO NOT send me a direct message on Twitter. This must be a public reply.

For many, I realize that Twitter is new or you may not realize how to use it. For you guys, I have written  a short Twitter user manual which you can read here on PCMech. Also, if you would like to bring the power of Twitter back to your desktop so that you don’t have to use the Twitter website, check out this list of 25 Twitter programs you can use.

Lastly, Twitter is more fun when you have followers. So, once you’ve followed me on Twitter and have your profile set up, post your Twitter URL here as a comment on this blog post. This way others can follow you on Twitter and help discover other PCMech readers. So, let’s have some fun with this!

In summary, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Sign up for Twitter.com.
  2. Visit my profile at www.twitter.com/davidrisley/ and follow me.
  3. Send me a public reply on Twitter telling me what you like about PCMech. Even if you have some constructive criticism, that’s fine, too.
  4. Post your Twitter profile URL here as a blog comment so that others can follow you. I will follow you, too.

And, on October 10th, I will be announcing the winner of the laptop stand via Twitter by sending you a reply back. You will need to reply BACK to me to acknowledge. Then just email me your address and I’ll ship it to you.

  1. Hmmm, I’m seeing this as a subtle way to get more people on board the Twitter bandwagon ;-)
Seeing as though someone may get something for free out of joining up, along with the number of comments that were posted on the last giveaway, I foresee your Twitter page being flooded.

Win for Dave / Win for the prize winner :)

    • You just wouldn’t believe it if you hadn’t seen it with your own eyes eh? Of all the scheming… Think think think: Dave put a bet on with someone – Scoble perhaps – That you can get at least x more followers before Oct 12th. You’ll be onto a winner. ;-)

      • David Risley /

Trust me, guys, I wouldn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of competing with Scoble on Twitter. :)

      • One more thing – As you may know I’m writing the odd article for pcmech; which in my opinion disqualifies me from entering – So I won’t be entering this contest – BUT if you want to follow me on Twitter too, (- And why not? You know it makes sense.)then here’s my Twitter url: http://twitter.com/kkomp :-)

Cool Idea, I got on Twitter almost when it first came out but didn’t really have any friends who used it at all so obviously didn’t use it myself either…now that I’ve got you guys added to my profile it’s making twitter much more interesting.

    Add me as : http://twitter.com/draceena

I’ve been following David since he sent out an invite a couple months ago to his PCMech readers. It’s been fun using the Search to connect with people in other states that have the same interests.

    • I’m replying to my own comment. Forgot to mention that my old laptop runs hot, so hopefully I can win this to help cool it down :-)

  4. Just twittered (tweeted? hmm) my kind of late giveaway entry. My profile:

  6. There doesn’t appear to be as much competition for this one, Dave. I guess that’s good for those of us that entered! :)
Less competition means more chances of winning.
I’m know my old Compaq would appreciate the cool down with this one I know that much!
Good luck to all who have entered.

I’m just too slow of mind to follow all these instruction. I’ve reg’d at Twit, sent Dave msgs, but have no response. Don’t know if I’m posting or not…. Best to all.

OK, I am drawing this contest to an end. Any comments or replies to me sent after this time will not count towards this contest. However, stay tuned for details on the next giveaway!

Now, we’ll see who wins this thing…
