LetterMeLater Hides Your True Nerdiness

Situation: You’re up in the wee hours of the morning (around 1 or 2am) and find this oh-so cool YouTube video that you want to e-mail to your friends.

However if you send off the link at that time of the night everybody knows when you sent it. You are basically admitting to all “Yes, I was up at two in the morning doing stupid stuff on my computer.” Oh, the ridicule. Oh, the shame.

But you’re just itching to send off that e-mail now.

What to do?

Well, you could use Mozilla Thunderbird with the Send Later add-on installed.

But maybe you don’t use Thunderbird. Heck, you might not even use a mail client at all.

What then?

LetterMeLater to the rescue. This service will schedule send-outs of e-mails when you want them to go out.

“But won’t the recipient know it was from LetterMeLater?”

Nope. No matter what e-mail service you use, scheduled mails all appear as if they came from your e-mail address directly. It doesn’t matter if you use Hotmail, Yahoo Mail, Gmail, ISP-based mail, whatever-mail. Doesn’t matter.

There are both free and paid options for LetterMeLater. The free version allows for 30 scheduled mails per month with a maximum of 10 recipients per message. You can even use file attachments in the free version (very cool). The paid version allows for a whole lot more.

The paid version is $19.95 yearly. Not a bad deal considering all that you get. But the cool part is that you can test the service immediately and see if it’s your thing or not without any cash at all.

Of course, LetterMeLater could be used for more than just hiding when you actually send e-mails. It can be used for notification purposes, sending text messages to cell phones (which it does support) and more.

“Are there any ads sent with the mails from LetterMeLater?”

Not a one.

other than that it might help minors avoid getting into trouble with their parents/guardians, i can’t imagine why anyone would be so superficial that they’re ‘concerned’ about someone knowing what time they sent an e-mail.
unless it for illicit/illegal activities, or to avoid being fired at work for ‘goofing off’ on company time.

So someone actually knowing when you sent an email is now an embarrassing problem? I thought static cling, dents in my car door, dust on my dining room table and wrinkles from furrowed brows were seriously embarrassing problems. Now I have to worry about this new embarrassing problem? Oh god, what will be the next embarrassing problem that someone has invented a solution for? Maybe feminine deodorant spray to solve that non-problem? Oh yeah, someone already invented FDS.

You can also try using this Outlook email reminder. It’s a plugin that lets your right click on your email and choose when you want to get back to it. Completely secure.
