The case we are featuring was modded by AMK Computer of British Colombia, Canada.

The case we received included two standard 80mm intake fans in the front, and one 80mm exhaust fan in the rear.  The two in the front have a 3 speed fan control, visible when the front bezel is removed.  This is a nice feature for overclockers and tweakers, and on low it really quiets the fans down. These fans are positioned to blow air directly over the hard drive area, and will easily keep a couple of 7200 rpm hard drives cool.  On high, although these fans sound like a Boeing 757 on takeoff, they can bring the total temperature of a system down one degree celcius.  They are also covered by an easily removeable and cleanable filter to keep pesky dust out of your computer.

The added fans by AMK Computer were two 80mm intake fans blowing over the CPU area and one over the add-in-card area on the motherboard. These fans are mounted on the aft, removeable side of the case.  There is also an 80mm fan added on top exhausting air.  For a total of 6 case fans you would think this case is loud, but it is much quieter than my Addtronics 7896A with only 3 case fans.  The aluminum material and quality construction aid in sound deadening.

AMK Computer has many options for modding a case.  They have options for adding handles and V-block, a sound deadening material.  There are also options for upgrading fans and adding power supplies.  This Lian-Li PC60 case comes stock with thumbscrews, but if the case you would like to order doesn\’t you can add those, too.  They will also do custom modding to virtually any case.  They are truly a full featured custom case dealer.

The power supply is not included with this case,  but one can be added with minnimal cost.  Enermax is a good choice - they make great power supplies with a wide range of wattage options for all users.  If you are going to be adding the power supply yourself, you will find installation into this case easier than most.  A removeable back plate attached by two thumbscrews is fastened to the back of the power supply.  It is then slid back into the case on rails that line up perfectly.

The Hacker's Nightmare is a full 500+ pages of valuable content. It has plenty of diagrams and illustrations and is broken down into small sections with easy step-by-step procedures. This is what I like about this book. It is powerful information that everybody needs, but it doesn't read like a boring computer manual. LEARN MORE
