Longhorn: The Next Windows

Have I been missing something? Of course! The new version of Windows now includes an annoying but somewhat useful “Sidebar” that is collapsable and adjustable. It contains many widgets and gadgets that are designed to make your Windows experience, or just your day, better.

However, it is very buggy and as of yet not as useful as it is made out to be.

Longhorn is scheduled for release in 2005, and I will keep you informed of any major changes. So far, WinFS has yet to be implemented.

I won’t waste any more of your precious time with my commentary, as from here it is pretty much useless. If you would like to read more about Micro$oft’s empty promises, head over to Paul Thurott’s Super Site for Windows to read more about “Palladium,” “Aero,” “Trustworthy Computing,” “Consolidation,” “.NET,” and other M$ banter.

Until then, have fun and give Longhorn a chance!
