THAT is what macs are all about.

secondly if you factor into the mac's cost what the included software that macs come with would cost, if bought separately you would realise that macs are good value.

thirdly, if you bear in mind the incredible way mac's hold their value, even old powerPC macs, macs are in fact much, much cheaper than PCs. for instance my pc which cost me 2 thousand quid 2 years ago is now worth probably 2 or 3 hundred pounds. A mac which cost the same 2 years ago is probably now worth 12 hundred pounds!

Macs are way cheaper and better value than PCs.

weedper, mac owners are NOT paying more for less.

firstly ignore component specs, consider the overall experience. Mac is a ton of garbage, because your paying more for less. Also Computer's don't use Horse Power they use a multitude of parts that ALL contribute to the computer such as.

Graphics Card --> Used for things that require a lot of Graphics processing and memory.

Ram & CPU --> Used in combination with a CPU. Low ram but strong CPU means your computer will work like crap however, a good amount of Ram & a great CPU will mean they can run at there full power.

Mother Board --> A good motherboard is required to have a Good Ram, a Good Graphics Card and a great CPU.

Hard Drive --> Having a large hard drive and a good hard drive will increase the overall speed of your PC even if it has a lot of crap on there, because you have enough room and a fast Hard Drive as well as a great system. Having a lower end CPU or low ram can drastically effect the speed of Hard Drive.

for around 650-750 dollars i was able to get a Core 2 Quad Intel CPU, a 1GB DDR2 Nvidia Graphics Card, 4 GB of Ram, a Motherboard that support Core 2 Quad and can also support 16GB of Ram total.
I also have a 250 GB Hard Drive that is very fast. My system also has a Flat Screen LED Monitor for $50 bucks.

so my system comes around to about $583 + Taxes.

I can play games like DMC 4 & Far Cry on Fullest Setting using Vista 64 bit or XP 32 bit.

I can use 3D Graphics Modeling Programs using Vista 64 bit or XP 32 bit.

I can also have multiple programs running simultaneously such as games, graphics programs , video editing, watching movies etc.

Your part of a cult for licking your mac computer. Right now I have my computer using Windows 7, 32GB ram, Asus supercomputer Motherboard, Intel l7 processor, 4 graphics cards, and 3.5 TB of hard drive, you can't do that on a mac, actually you couldn't even open up that thing, unless you want to void the warranty. Ha!All of those for the same 2K price. Thats something worth paying for.

I just hate Macs sorry, I’m just into PC’s. PC users use their machines as TOOLS. Mac users use.......or view their machines as sexual devices. Why do 99% of all the mac users I run into try to "convert me". I, being a technician, never try to convert them. If they are happy with their machine.........fine! But don't try to tell me that I am running an inferior product. I buy premium hardware with plenty of horsepower. My machines do everything I want them to do........and more. And for a lot less money. I had ZERO issues with Vista, and now that I am running Win 7, it is even that much better. And here is the reason...........I READ THE FREAKING MANUAL. Is Windows perfect.......far from it. But I can work on my machine, and I can fix it. And face the facts. Worldwide mac is only about 5%. THAT is the truth. I live in the real world and I work on real computers........... But thanks for the GREAT entertainment you mac fanboys provide me. You are Fantastic.............

The fact that you lick your laptop shows the inherent difference between Mac users and PC users. Windows 7 looks great but I will stick with vista for a while. Its very secure with MS Essentials(which I have been running ever since it came out in beta) Ms firewall, sanboxie virtual software topped off with Threatfire. With these running I still have plenty of cpu left over. Im running 3 monitors including an EVGA USB-HDMI external video card and the drivers work!
I will be honest that I have never owned a mac. Why? If it works( and beautifully!)why fix it.)

They are fast and easy to use. There are so many great features right out of the box (iDvd, iTunes, iMovie). Customer Service is always accessible, and I am talking to someone who speaks English- and it is their first language. Apple's are easy to use and understand. Windows, keeps getting more and more confusing. Where does all the stuff go??? I agree I am not a techy kind of girl. But why should you need a Microsoft certificate to operate your computer? But yes apple's are more money, and I agree that sucks. And if you convert to an apple you may haft to sacrifice some programs to go along with it. I just use the regular stuff on mine- so no-big-deal. And have learned to live without. If you are a big gamer, than don't get a mac, because it is to hard to figure out how to get windows games to work with a mac. But if you are looking for simplicity and understanding along with the added security features- than a mac is probably for you. If you are a computer wiz, well then get whatever-you-want.And lastly, why so much bickering.... Really- you guys.

I do not know what is going on here. You're obviously biased, which is understandable, but at the same time if you don't want people to just throw your video in the trash, you might want to work on making a more valid argument.Macs are like the consoles of computers, they are unable to upgrade and therefore become outdated the second they are released. The best PC available on the market will always be better than the best mac on the market because of this. Also all the flaws you have stated about the PC are flaws that would be apparent with Mac as well if they had the same open-ended capabilities. The best test would be to buy a computer of the same price immediately upon release and to see which one runs stress testing programs better. I have already done some similar testing where I used a less expensive PC and actually saw it outpace the Mac in many categories. It seems like your biggest complaint is that because a PC can do more and run a lot of programs that you Mac can't, that you get the problems that come with it, like viruses, and errors. That if you adjust your settings wrong then your computer will crash? A price I'd gladly pay to be able to adjust them.

I wish you would include some important facts with all of your opinion. Yes, the average speed of a PC is less than that of a mac. Yes, a lot of people are dumb enough to get a slow PC. But try getting a PC that actually costs the same as a mac. Then you'll actually know what a fast computer is. My homebuilt PC cost about $1500 (~$2200 if you got an equivalent one from Dell). And it runs way much faster than any mac I've seen. You most definitely can switch seamlessly between OS X and Windows, and even more so than on a Mac; I've done it (I'm also running a homebrew copy of OS X on there). Macs are high-end, and should be compared to high-end price-equivalent PCs. Look at the Mac Mini. It sucks. Terribly. It is slow and crappy, just like the low-end PCs.

I’m getting so tired of mac users complaining about PC’s processing power and then saying that “you get what you pay for” with macs.
