If you would like to quickly launch an application from your desktop, without having to click on it time and time again, follow these instructions to create your own keyboard shortcut:

1. Right Click on the icon of the program.

2. Select Properties

3. Find where it says “Shortcut Key” and enter a single letter.

4. Notice that “Ctrl + Alt + ” is actually added before your letter. This is because Windows keyboard shortcuts require you to hold down both Ctrl and Alt (simultaneously) while pressing your special shortcut key.

5. Click Apply and then close the menu.

6. Test it out; remember to hold down Ctrl + Alt + (your specified key).

Enjoy.
