Making XP Look Like Vista

I posted a little while ago about making Windows Vista look more like the “classic” Windows XP theme, but what you have XP and want the Vista interface?

If this is the case, then check out the Vista Transformation Pack. This free download (use the ”Download and Discuss” link at the bottom of the page), when installed on your machine offers the ability to change (from their website):

  • Boot screen
  • Welcome Screen / Logon Screen
  • New msstyles files (visual styles)
  • New desktop and file icons
  • New toolbar icons
  • Progress Dialogs
  • Sounds scheme
  • System Tray icons
  • New Wallpapers
  • Windows Media Player Skins
  • And much more

There are many screenshots of what the transformation looks like and a forum where you can ask questions and get help. If you are wanted to give Vista’s new interface a try without upgrading, then this might be for you.
