I'm a 22 year-old college student who has just switched from Windows to mac earlier this year. I tell you, I was VERY skeptical at first, especially regarding the price issue. But after buying my first macbook, I can see now why they are priced the way they are. The price difference between mac and PCs are a lot closer than most people realize. On mac you don't pay additional for antivirus software, music editing, and you save time in not having to run scan disk or even disk defrag. Also, everything just runs smoother and the way it should be cause both hardware and software are coming from the SAME SOURCE (apple) where as in PC you probably have tens of dozens of different sources for the different components under the hood. Thus, even when you google a problem you're having on a mac, it's easier to find and to pinpoint.Everything I want to do on the mac it "just works". I'll be honest, however, my macbook has frozen up on me on a couple of occasions. But they are FAR LESS then what I've been experiencing on windows over the years. All in all, Mac has been the SMOOTHEST computer experience I've ever had. And since I have Windows XP installed on it as well, I have BEST of BOTH worlds! :)

I personally have been a PC user for 15+ years of my life. I thought that Pc was the best because if something went wrong i could just open it up and fix it myself with easy to upgrade parts and if your need to get some third party software you could usually find it on the Web for free.Wake up people!!!I have already done the job with my Mac while your still surfing your way through viruses looking for the answers.Mac is Sooooooo much better

I had a PC for years and years and my girlfriend always used Mac. Are there states that don't charge sales tax?

Its quite a coincidence that the computer plus tax added up to a “balance due” of 699.99. I dislike it so I won't use it. Typical apple user come back. Btw, I use Fire Fox. Hmmm... I also don't like it that OS-X is so restrictive, you cant even see what components are inside the machine. Makes me wonder if Apple is getting away with putting junk under the hood. Why else would they hide that information from the casual user?

I am not ignorant, and I will get used to nothing. I dislike it so I won’t use it. Generally on a PC you can have most problems fixed within minutes to hours even if it was a hardware issue. In fact both friends who had mac books and swore they were better than my hp laptop have had their mac books fried at some point and had to have them replaced. I have not had one issue with my HP laptop that has been anything more than shutting down a program and reopening. Plus my HP cost half what they paid for their mac books and does everything they can do.

I just love when my friends have Macs that break down and they have to take it in somewhere and lose their laptops for a few days. In that case you should dislike windows too because internet explorer isn't the best. So such it up and download another browser. Also you are b*tching because the window buttons are on the left hand side. Get used to it, its really not a big deal.Just don't hate on OSX because you ignorant.

You are saying that you dislike OSX because Safari isn’t the best thing. I recently had the displeasure of using OS X for a few days and grew and honest dislike for that operating system. Plus when you are using a $2000 apple computer hooked up to lightning fast internet you don't expect to have to click a link twice because it didn't take on the first click, way to go safari! Ok so I want to close the stupid thing... Wth? The close button is on the top left??? Ah wait forgot this is apple they have to be different whether people like their different or not.

The comment about “crappy windows” is BS in my opinion anyway.
