We can SELECT unread mail, but then you still have to go through all the pages. What if I still had unread mail I forgot to read on the 5th page? It's too hard when you get so many emails a day to go through each page and scan. It's just easier to have the option to just view unread mail. Another one would be a "Follow-Up" option and to integrate it with the Calendar. I use Lotus Notes but I find it's un-userfriendly in many ways and prefer the easibility of GMail. It would be good if it had a multiple signatures as you mentioned (also better if it was Rich Text, not just Plain Text) and this follow-up/Calendar option. It's good for the Business-Minded Busy Person. The Business-Minded Busy Person such as I, likes the integrated-ness of GoogleDocs, GoogleReader, etc. Saves time and keeps everything together.
