There are some laptops that are worth their $3000 price tag and some that are not. This one definitely is. The W700 ThinkPad from Lenovo has a built-in Wacom tablet directly next to the trackpad and said honestly, this kicks ass. Big 17-inch screen, fast processor and a must-have for anyone that does any type of graphic design work.
As I’ve stated several times on the PCMech Live broadcast, the ThinkPad is the best built laptop. Always has been and always will be. In the grand pecking order of best laptops, it’s Lenovo ThinkPad, Apple Macbook Pro and Dell Precision Mobile Workstation – in that order. When you want the best of the best, you go ThinkPad. Disagree if you will but you’d be wrong. There is nothing better than a ThinkPad.

Ooh.. interesting.
May I ask if you’ve been able to use & review one of these? How does the size of the tablet space feel? How much has been compromised in order to integrate it into a laptop?
And, as I happen to be a new reader, why do you rank the Lenovo ThinkPad so high up there?
I haven’t been able to review one of these units however I can say it’s a no-brainer if it’s made by Lenovo. The reason I champion the brand so much is per experience in enterprise IT with them. Those units take a pounding better than any other and stand the test of time consistently.
Per the Wacom pad itself I would say it’s not a replacement for the external pad (might be a bit odd in the way it’s mounted when using it), but for those looking for an all-in-one portable professional graphic design solution, there is none better (at present).
Thank you.
