The reason I champion the brand so much is per experience in enterprise IT with them. Those units take a pounding better than any other and stand the test of time consistently. Per the Wacom pad itself I would say it's not a replacement for the external pad (might be a bit odd in the way it's mounted when using it), but for those looking for an all-in-one portable professional graphic design solution, there is none better (at present).
