If you look closely you’ll notice that the third Hard Drive Bay is nothing more than an set of 4 screw holes. This will force a user to installed a third hard Drive upside down, leaving cables twisted and the inside of the case a little more crowded, and worst of all, air flow impeded.
The single advantage of the actual case itself is it’s sound. It has no sound. With my computer placed near the floor under my desk, I can’t hear a thing except for the Hard Drive heads moving when need be. With a 20CFM intake fan, power supply fan, and 20CFM Heatsink Fan, it should be loud, and actually was very loud in the case these fans were in Prior to the PC2000.
The case isn’t as roomy as most Full Tower ATX cases, but it’s just right for most people, including me. Not too small, yet not too large. A normal ATX motherboard fits perfectly inside, with the power supply directly above the CPU, where it should be, and at the top of the case. This helps suck all of the hot air that rises to the top of the case out, as well as help cool the CPU down, which is what the ATX form factor calls for.
The Standoffs
Aside from having a different power supply, this case comes with some of the oddest motherboard standoffs I have ever seen in my life. These are much different than the screw in plastic pins and plastic standoffs of normal ATX cases, but they are actually clips that slip into a hole. For each standoff, the case also comes with a mobherboard screw and red plastic washer to screw the motherboard onto these stand offs.
Conclusion
This is a matter of an above average if not perfect power supply matched with an average case. If you’re a normal home user that’s looking for the perfect case that’s upgradeable to the latest CPUs without power supply concerns, this is the perfect case for you. If you’re hardcore gamer that’s looking for a Full tower Case with all the bells and whistles, you should at least look at getting this Power Supply.
I’ve looked around the Internet to purchase a power supply such as this for two weeks now, and I could not find a place. If you’re looking to purchase this cane, it’s only $55 + shipping at http://www.nimbuspc.com. One of the salesmen ad Nimbus has informed that they are going fast, and as of two weeks ago, they only had around 200 in, and were expecting orders of 50 or more. That obviously means they are going fast! Once they are gone, they are gone, because Nimbus does not plan on importing any more from Taiwan after this batch is gone.
