Recently, I have been reading a lot about a relatively new PDF reader product, Nitro PDF, so I decided to give it a try. After about a week of usage, I am pretty impressed. In fact, I have uninstalled SumatraPDF and CutePDF writer from my system and solely use Nitro PDF.
This free product boasts an impressive list of features which most free readers do not support, including:
- PDF writer included
- Ability to markup and save PDF files (Awesome!)
- Easy to disable/enable Javascript
- Integrates with Outlook 2007+ document previews
While Nitro PDF is still in beta, I like this product enough to move away from my previous PDF setup. The ability to markup PDF files alone makes this reader something you might want to consider.

Thanks Rich.
I’ve updated the link in the article.
I do like the functionality as well, minus one big item — no browser plugin.
READ THE TERMS! YOU MIGHT NOT WANT YOUR COMPUTER TURNED INTO A “SUPER SERVER.”
Jesse Faulkner, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!
Have you used Foxit? Was wondering how it compared?
I used Foxit for a while, but over time it has suffered from feature creep.
PDF-XChange Viewer allows highlighting, and comments.
Does Nitro offer better features ?
If not then I recommend -

I have not experienced any nasty side effects.
Foxit? Just as Jason says – forget it. PDF-XChange Viewer? Yes, that is the thing for the time being.
