If you are currently running Office 2007 and like to make use of the PDF and the XPS document format, then you can download this add in which allows you to do so directly from the Office application.
The add in works for all the Office applications and, once installed, will also allow you to utilize the new formats through the send as email attachment feature. While you could still accomplish exporting to PDF through a printer driver, in my opinion, native support is always the best option.
