Open Source Take On The Greatest Game Ever

In the past I have posted links to several older/classic games which you can either download or play online, so today I am going to do the same with one exception: the game I am linking to is the open source version of the greatest game ever made, Civilization (this isn’t opinion… it’s a fact :) .

If you haven’t checked it out already FreeCiv strives to emulate and improve upon the classic game which is over 15 years old and still going. The AI is tough, the game play is addicting (just one more turn) and it offers infinitely replay ability.

In reality, anything I say in this tip will be a detriment to the greatest game ever, so go download it now and play all weekend.

  1. Did you know you can make your own video game using an app such as RPG Maker (whatever version)? Its pretty sweet, I just found out about it and the trial may last 30 days but its worth it, and I havent looked around for a freeware version of it but the games that people make are free you just download and play (shareware).

  2. i tried it but sorry as much as i respect what freeciv are doing its not a good game, interface is really not good. However i still have civ 2 cd laying around so time to play!
