Paypal Freezes Ron Paul Group Account

Posted Jan 17, 2008 by David Risley

Doh! This is sure to get the conspiracy folks in a tizzy. Yes, a group who was raising money to fund a recount of the New Hampshire primary vote had their Paypal account frozen.

The group is called, uumm, the Granny Warriors. They had raised $55,600 to fund a request for a recount to the New Hampshire Secretary of State. The Ron Paul old lady fans weren’t able to file the request in time because they had no access to their money, which was in Paypal.

As they put it:

I am informed directly by the Granny Warriors that PayPal did in fact freeze the funds earmarked for the Recount Fees! So, now you know who to blame for the failure to get a recount of the New Hampshire vote count. PayPal. The application for a recount of the New Hampshire vote required a deposit of $55,600 to the New Hampshire Secretary of State no later than 3:00 P.M. this afternoon, January 15th. A huge and successful effort by the Granny Warriors raised the money and they ordered the transfer to the Secretary. However, at the very last moment, PayPal FROZE THE ACCOUNT and did not transfer the money. The deadline for payment of the deposit passed and the recount application was rejected for lack of payment.

Ron Paul support groups are urging supporters to protest this decision directly with Paypal. The tin foil hat folks are getting in on it, too. As one commenter put it:

Is it clear yet that they will stop at NOTHING to block him.

Others are saying that Paypal is in bed with Mitt Romney. Sigh.

No word yet why Paypal froze the account, but you can be sure the Ron Paul folks are going to hammer Paypal incessantly about it.

In the meantime, I’m left wondering what these guys were smoking not to see that Ron Paul did indeed LOSE in New Hampshire. As if a recount is going to change anything. What a waste of $55,600.

$55,600? huh? I’m very, very confused about something. I read that it cost Dennis Kucinich $2000.00 for a recount in New Hampshire. Why is it so much more for Ron Paul?

Kucinich asked for a partial recount (to start) while Albert Howard asked for a full recount. The reason people are wondering if Mitt’s in bed with Paypal is because paypal is owned by ebay and the CEO of ebay is on Mitt’s steering committee.

Why aren’t you asking why the money was frozen?

Vote Ron Paul regardless of who you believe will win or lose. A movement has started.

It doesn’t matter if Ron won or lost New Hampshire. The problem is that there are major descrepancies in the number of votes Ron got in certain counties {such as zero} when there were actually many that did vote for him. What they are trying to bring out with a recount is the voter fraud taking place with electronic tabulation and with totally paperless voting, fraud will be rampant!

Definitely a waste David. I never really wanted my vote to count anyway. I’m happy with rigged elections, that way if the new president makes a mistake I don’t have to feel like it was my fault for putting them there.

What do you think of the two party system? “I think it’s phenomenal, you get one more choice than communist Russia” ~Jesse Ventura

Well at least have the illusion of another choice.

Paypal are nothing more than a bunch of modern thieves, they first give you an ok to use PayPal for your business and when a bit of money is on the account the instantly freeze your account without prior notice and without any justification.

It happened to me too and countless others, this company should be shutdown immediately it’s violating every possible customerright in the world. Amazing that it is still around.

Please do not use PayPal for fundraising
