PC-based Daily Planning

Many of us who use our PCs in day-to-day work also use our PCs to manage our time. I am a self-employed guy who has many items to handle on any given day, so my PC is like my brain half the time. I use my PC to host my task list and, therefore, I consult my PC to tell me what needs to be done, in what priority, and by when. There are a lot of programs out there to help you do this. Some are freeware, many are not. Many use Outlook to do their task lists because they already use Outlook for email. But, I thought I would pass on my (to-date) personal favorite: FranklinCovey Planning Software (now called PlanPlus). You may have seen the FranklinCovey stores in your local mall. They carry a whole line of time management products, but are not generally known for their software. But, their planning software is actually very good and has a host of features which Outlook simply does not have. Instead of regurgitating the features here, simply head over to FranklinCovey’s website and read about it. One feature I really wished it had was nested tasking, allowing you to create a master task and then a list of sub-tasks underneath that, but otherwise this is a very strong product.

BTW, if anyone is aware of a strong alternative which does offer nested tasks and has other strong features, please send the info over to newsletter@pcmech.com so we can check it out.
