In response to your reply to my comment, "True, but early adopters are the ones who blaze the trail for everybody else.", this is not completely true.

If this was true, than firefox would have a greater market share than internet explorer by now. Most people resist change and try to stick with what they're used to. It's the technologically liberal ones (like the ones who read computer websites) who will mostly be using the alternative browsers. Most couldn't care less.

'Just a quick note: If you see a load of smileys advertised above - don't click on the ad: Those smileys come with a bunch of spyware and possibly a trojan too: Just a friendly warning from experience. :-)

Hmmf: Browser Wars - There'll be a film out soon.

I agree with marc. Although I'm normally a Firefox user these days; K-Meleon is my joint second-browser along with IE8: It's a nifty little browser TBH.

Chrome...I hope the final retail is a lot better than the beta.

That's my twopennethworth.

Oh and BTW that 5.67% part of that would be me

Yet you understand that this is a biased audience. The people viewing PCMech are the people who are interested in improving their computers and getting new technology. They are the crowd who uses alternative browsers. Internet Explorer is still the dominant browser by far in the internet.

I'm actually using chrome as I write this...

I've been using Chrome and am not at all impressed. Where are the add-ons? Nice try, Google. Even the low-budget K-Meleon is better than this.

Watch those Chrome numbers fall as time goes by and people go back to their old browsers.
