PCMech Giveaway: The Winners Are…

OK, I am a couple days late in choosing the winner for our latest giveaway, the first “Clean Dave’s Closet” giveaway. It was supposed to end on Monday, but because I’ve been so busy, I was two days late. Sorry!

But, without further ado, the winners are:

  1. Stacey Dow
  2. Misca Cocutza
  3. Barbara Baker
  4. Josh Hyde
  5. Shane Cocq

Some of you guys are from overseas which makes it more expensive to ship an item to you. But, I had to go with my gut. Hopefully it doesn’t prove to be too much.

In all cases, the winners did the extra steps of following me on Twitter and joining myself and PCMech on Facebook. Stacey was the only person who created a video. And while I certainly hope this doesn’t embarrass her, here it is:

Stacey, thanks for the video. And hopefully, in the future, others will do the same. All it takes is a webcam, guys.

Aside from the bonus actions, the rest of the ranking had to do with what the person said. Misca says she took my initiative and started her own business. That’s awesome! Josh (vertimyst) has been participating in our other giveaways, and I was also tickled that he correctly guessed that this was an informal survey of the audience (sly, huh?). Barbara talked about getting more involved in the Internet, but I also really admired the enthusiasm. She also privately emailed us about the fact I was a couple days late in choosing the winner (keeping me on my toes!).

Shane stood out to me for a different reason. He said making money on the Internet would be cool “if you could really do it”. Well, you know, you CAN! And the only reason, quite frankly, that you couldn’t is if you think you’re not capable of doing it. I’m just some weirdo in a bedroom who started a website that turned into PCMech. I now make my living online. If you think this is because I’m just a gift from the Internet gods, think again. :) So, Shane, I guess I chose you in order to make an example out of you, in a way. :)

So, this has been fun. The next step is that I am going to email each of the winners via Facebook.com, and do so in order. Each person will be able to choose which of the five items they want. Once #1 chooses, I move to #2 and that person can pick of the remaining 4 items. I’ve already played favorites here once. I don’t want to start trying to decide who gets what, too!

So, for the winners, stay tuned to Facebook. For everybody else, stay tuned to PCMech for details on our next giveaway. Hint: I think we might use Facebook itself for the next one…

  2. I’ve already thanked you (somewhat) on twitter, but I’ll do it here too.

I could ramble on all day in a thankful tone, but instead I’ll keep it short and sweet: You’re awesome for having these giveaways, sharing all the stuff you know, helping people get started with all kinds of things, and picking me (and all the other lucky winners). So thanks a billion. ^_^

Looking forward to your message. It’s awesome that we get to pick, I wasn’t sure if it would work like that.
