When building a computer, the textbook always tells you to be careful about ESD (Electro-static Discharge). With that said, many computer hardware components come in neat little anti-static bags. Beware that while the inside is a safe-antistatic environment for these boards, the outside conducts electricity like any other bag! When building with the motherboard, if it isn’t already inside the case, place the board on the retail box once you remove the board from the bag.
