Do you know if all Win XP’s sold nowadays come with SP2 integrated?
Also thinking of building a new system with SATA optical/HDs and my concern is the one you touched on with XP not recognizing the SATA optical drive. Has been an issue with some folks. Would the OEM version of XP sold by retailers such as newegg have SP2 integrated on the same disc?
Having looked at the dates on these articles I feel… well a little STUPID. However, for those of you planning to assemble your own PC I still suggest purchasing a case and a power supply as individual components. I also suggest you not purchase a power supply of less than 500w (in this case more is better) and modular. Modular power supplies are very price competitive and superior in quality, air flow, and aesthetics.
SATA is definitely the way to go as opposed to IDE. I use SATA and have never had a problem with XP sp1 recognizing the drives.
