PortableApps Can Be Installed Individually

Posted Mar 19, 2008 by Jason Faulkner

A few weeks ago I wrote about the PortableApps software package which allows you to install and run many popular applications on a flash drive. One thing I have found most useful about this package is the ability to install only select applications instead of the whole suite.

In my case, I wanted Notepad++ only and had no need for anything else. This was no problem as I was able to download the individual Notepad++ package from PortableApps’ site and install it on my 128 MB flash drive. This works great for when you only have a small flash drive or only want a couple of packages.

Some of you might have already known this, but for those who didn’t, this is a great trick to know.
