Put Your Photo in System Properties (XP, 2000, 2003)

Posted Aug 13, 2008 by Rich Menga

sys_prop What’s this? Is this a Photoshopped image? Nope. You can insert your own custom "builders" logo in Windows XP, 2000, 2003 server (and probably several other flavors of Windows all the way back to Windows NT 4.0) by doing the following:

1. Create a 180×144 image, save as oemlogo.bmp to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder.

2. Create a text file called oeminfo.ini, save it to the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder and have it contain the following information:

[general]
Manufacturer=Your name
Model=Your model

[Support Information]
Line1= line1
Line2= line2
Line3= line3

The support information text is what appears when you click on the "Support Information" button in System Properties. Not really necessary but you can put it there if you like.

If you build your own computers with XP this is a cool way to give it that extra custom touch. You can put your photo or company logo or whatever you like.
