Quick Word Count in MS Word

Posted Jul 17, 2005 by David Risley

Many times you want to know the number of words in a document and you have to go through a few menus to run the word count. Well, there is a quicker way. Go to View > Toolbars, and select Word Count. You will get a small little bar show up as a floater. Now, just drag that floating toolbar onto your main toolbar somewhere and it will then append itself there. Now, all you need to do is hit the “Recount” button to get a quick, one-click word count at any time.

Very handy for you students. :-)
