If you ever need to develop a small website (say 10 pages or less) but don’t want to have to manage the HTML source on each page, a CMS (Content Management System) is the way to go. There are already well established, powerful systems out there, but if you want something lightweight and simple, Zimplit is something you should try.
Zimplit does not have a database backend, it is simply a tool for editing and tying together HTML templates. Basically, you login to the site and directly edit the HTML (via a simple WYSIWYG editor) and the Zimplit engine handles all the menu creation for you. The templating system is incredibly simple as well, so pumping out your own shouldn’t be an issue with a little HTML craftiness.
I absolutely love this model and will be giving it try for a couple of upcoming projects I have.
