If you’re annoyed by the constant nags to turn on automatic updates, to install AV protection because your AV software isn’t recognized, or any number of other things the Security Center doesn’t like, here’s a way to keep it from pestering you, while not actually disabling it.

Go to the Control Panel and open the “Security Center”. On the left-hand side of the windows there is a list of options in text. Click on “Change the way security center alerts me”

Uncheck the options you do not want to be alerted about, then hit OK and exit the Security Center.
