If you do a lot of online shopping and have your preferences on the respective sites set to not remember your credit card or bank account information, a handy shortcut to have this information available quickly is to store it in a password database. I have discussed using Keepass to store secure text and your credit card and bank account information would certainly fall under this category.
For credit card information, just log the following information:
- Card Number
- Expiration Date
- Name as it appears on the card
- CVV Number
And for bank accounts:
- Account Number
- Routing Number
- Account Type (checking/savings)
You can create standalone entries for this information or just add it to the notes of your existing credit card and/or banking login.
Having this information readily available is very convenient as you won’t have to go digging for your wallet or purse when you make an online purchase.

I’m still not comfortable keeping passwords and credit card numbers on my computer. Just the other day MSE found a back door trojan on my mothers computer. Who knows what information the dirt bag that put it there obtained. Only fools think passwords cannot be broken.
As a rule of thumb, any passwords or security pin that deals with payment, example paypal, bank pin, etc.. should never be store in the cloud/internet or your local computer irregardless of secure they are. The best place to keep them is still your brain. Just keep a sequence random of phrases, incl. numbers..that you are comfortable with as passwords or pin. Remember, no one can hack your brain.
I have a little notebook I keep on my desk with all that information. Nobody can hack into paper.
