Say Goodbye to The Fake Steve Jobs

Posted Jul 10, 2008 | by David Risley

The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs has long been one of the most popular blogs on Blogspot. The blog is a parody blog where the author pretends to be Apple CEO Steve Jobs with an attitude.

fake_steve_jobs Daniel Lyons, the real-world author of the blog, has announced that he is officially ending the site and will be starting up a new blog under his real name.

I know you’ll miss FSJ. So will I. But rest assured, Fake Steve is not really going away. He’s just taking on a new form. As Jimi Hendrix once said, If I don’t see you no more in this world, I’ll meet you on the next one, but don’t be late.

Fake Steve Jobs was long a mystery of Silicon Valley. People didn’t know who he was for real. Many speculated that he was a renegade Apple insider. In reality, he was a guy who worked at Forbes. And, in a dramatic case of irony, Forbes publisher, Richard Karlgarrd, offered a reward for the real identity of the fake Steve – not knowing the real person was a member of his own staff.

All sites must eventually meet their end. Fake Steve Jobs has long been a good read and I’ll be looking forward to what Daniel does in the future.
