Scheduled Tasks are a feature of Windows that has is been around since the 9x era, but XP streamlines the process. By creating a scheduled task, you are telling Windows to run a certain program at a certain time interval. To create one, go to Start -> Control Panel -> Scheduled Tasks, and click “Add Scheduled Task.” Click Next, then choose the program that you wish to run on a regular basis. For our purposes, I am going to choose “Synchronize.” Finally, specify the time interval that you wish to run it (the options are self-explanatory), click Next, and further specify the option that you chose. Once the wizard is complete, you will have created a new scheduled task that can be run without your specific intervention, however you MUST be LOGGED ON to ensure that the scheduled task actually runs.
