A convenient feature of Windows when you want to search for files is the Search context option when right clicking on a folder. By invoking a search through this option the scope of the search is limited to the selected folder and any sub-folders. When you have a general idea where your target file is located, this is much quicker than going through the search feature on the Start Menu. Additionally, all of the functionality of a normal search is available.
