I got a notice in the mail. I don't use my phone much since I have a home phone. They told me they have reviewed my usage and that I am eligible for a $25 monthly plan with 100 anytime minutes, 500 night and weekend minutes. No contract required.

Funny. I think I am getting this notice since my 2-yr contract is ending in 1 month and I had told the customer service guy I might switch to t-mobile or att since all my family here and overseas is on GSM. Now all of a sudden there is a $25 plan.

Must be the economy, I have never received a notice from a company asking me to reduce what I pay them!

My wife got the $25 plan. She was told that the 300 min plan she had was the lowest. After telling them to cancel the service the Verison guy came up with the $25 plan. I love this internet!

I can tell you one better, I have a verizon wireless phone, and pay $15.00 a months for 25 anytime minutes. I have had it for years, they keep tring to tget me to change it - but get this, they even renew my phone every two years!!! ( I pay the same for the phone that anyone else with a plan does! For those of us who do not abuse the phone and don't go over the allowable minutes, you can't beat this.

I was told of this secret $20 plan by Verizon by the FIOS/Phone people. I was told to sign up for the cellphone with the Wireless people and go back to them for the discount. Now no one heard of it and I lost my notes that had who I spoke to. I know they told me about it, but now everyone at Verizon denies it's existence. It was called the "Customer Appreciation ?? or something plan"

Anyone?

I was checking the Alltell website and I didn't see the basic Alltel plan that costs nothing if you don’t use it. Calls are 25 cents per minute but you only have to make one call per month to keep it active. Please let us know whether they still have this offering.

I am currently paying between $4 and $5 per month for a cell phone, however I average only 30 - 40 minutes a month. I use PagePlusCellular.com. They use the Verizon network and are PrePay with a flat rate of 12 cents per minute. Minutes are good for 4 month and carry over if you add more before the end of 4 months. So $10 gets me 83 minutes which lasts me over 2 months. Phones are nice. Mine cost $30 and came with $10 worth of minutes on it. Coverage is national. Quality is as good as I have had in the past with AT&T, Verizon and Suncom.
