Skype FreeTalk Freaked Me Out!

I’ve been using Skype for some time now, and a little while back I decided to pay the $1.99/month fee so I could make unlimited nationwide calls in the US. And no, it’s not a "must buy 3 or 6 months in advance" subscription. Just 2 bucks and no commitments. If I wanted to drop the service at any time, I could with no ETFs or any of that nonsense.

One thing I couldn’t stand was being tethered to the PC via my headset whenever I wanted to place a call, so I bought a FreeTalk box to cure that ill. A complete review on that will come in a future article, but what it does is that you can hook up a plain telephone to the box and make outbound calls using that instead of headphones.

There was only one real problem with the FreeTalk box – the way it identified itself on the network, which completely freaked me out. See video below and you’ll find out what happened.
