For those of you into the itty-bitty Linux distros, SliTaz is definitely worth checking out as it’s only 35MB in size. It’s rare that a Linux flavor comes along this good at a size so small. I checked it out and it looks really good (and functions well) for what it is. SliTaz is designed to run in RAM and then store everything to a USB key. Once you boot into “live” mode, it’s easy to set this up. Those of you who are looking for an “emergency recovery” Linux for the unfortunate situation where your hard drive busts where setup is really quick and simple, check out SliTaz.
The most amazing thing about SliTaz is how much you get from a distro that’s so unbelievably small.

That is flippin amazing. It also can be installed.
Root filesystem taking up about 100 MB. Very handy. I installed on an old K6-2 450 Mhz box with a Trident video card and 128mb of RAM and it loaded in about three minutes and ran very well. I’m surprised a cap didn’t pop as it has been so long since I fired the dinosaur up. Now I have a headache from the the old VESA monitor.
