Which Social Media Sites Do You Use? [POLL]

Do you use social media sites?

To you use Twitter at all? Do you dabble? Or do you think it is just a big waste of time?

Doing what I do for a living, I am pretty active in social media. I am on Twitter every day. I am also active on Facebook. Every once in awhile, I check in on LinkedIn. Myspace? Well, I have a profile but I think the site blows and therefore I never check Myspace.

So, let me know what you use (if any). And, if you’re up for it, post a comment on this post and let us know your reasons. For example, if you don’t use any social media, why not? And, if you do, what do you get out of it?

I’ve found that Facebook has been great for reconnecting to former classmates and relatives you haven’t heard from in a long time. I’m still trying to figure out how Twitter can benefit me though.

  2. Social networking comes across to me mainly as background noise. Nothing to pay any attention to in my opinion. Certainly nothing anyone needs.

    • I agree which is why I tend not to use them myself, usage of these things by people is mixed

theres the way they could potentially be using it (as as been explained here several times already, to the point of being a real put-off)

then theres the way people actually do use them, which is a whole nuther thing entirely.

  3. I think people are split when it comes to social media. some like it some think it is pointless.

  4. Although I do have a Twitter account, I never really got into Twitter. However, I do use FaceBook daily. I’ve been reconnected with 2 people that I had lost contact with due to several moves throughout the years and formed new friendships with people who have common interests.

  5. My first and only experience was signing-up for facebook. Not sure how the progam works, but when I signed up I was greated by a wedding picture of my ex-wife and her new husband. She’s a cheating bit@h and the last thing I wanted to see was her new wedding pictures. I was told that the program found her email address in my Yahoo contacts and presented her as a potentiall friend. I haven’t been back to facebook since.

  6. I believe social media are here to stay. I think it’s time for some organizations — and, perhaps, individuals — to establish social media policies.

  7. I just don’t understand why anybody would sneer at social media: it’s probably one of the best things to ever happen to the internet. Social media is teeming with information and links that u would never find anywhere else other than a search-engine in one place.

Social media is also a godsend to internet marketers, bloggers, and regular commentators: if set up right one can share all of ones blog-posts, comments, and special offers, across the entire social media spectrum with a massive audience.
