Soldier of Fortune Preview

Warning, For Mature Audiences Only

Soldier of Fortune is perhaps the most eagerly anticipated game in recent history. Media reports of excessive gore, and realistic violence had the public screaming for a demo, and it has finally arrived. Weighing in at 95.1 megs, the demo may take a while to download, but it is worth every minute. Here at Max3D, we have one of the first SOF demo reviews to hit the Internet. A warning for women, children, the elderly, or those with heart conditions: Soldier of Fortune depicts graphic violence, realistic wounds, and is intended for mature audiences. Kids, go ask mommy and daddy before you try this game.

A little background info

Soldier of Fortune is a 3D-shooter, if you hadn’t figured that out yet, based on the tried and true Quake II engine. Activision has secured the license to produce games using the Soldier of Fortune name and logo (I’m sure you’ve seen the magazine), and the game is being developed by Raven Software. Previous titles by Raven Software include Heretic II and Black Crypt.
